These Perfect Cheeseburger Wraps combine seasoned ground beef, gooey cheddar, fresh veggies, and a tangy homemade sauce—all wrapped in a crisp tortilla thanks to the air fryer. Ideal for quick weeknight dinners, game-day appetizers, or meal prep, they balance convenience with crowd-pleasing flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
  • 4 large flour tortillas (8–10 inches)
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese or 1 cup (100 g) shredded cheddar
  • 4 slices turkey bacon, chopped (optional)
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 medium tomato, diced
  • ½ cup dill pickle slices, chopped
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Cooking spray or a light brush of oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375 °F (190 °C).
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped turkey bacon until crisp, then transfer to a paper towel–lined plate.
  • Add the ground beef to the same skillet, season with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper, and cook until no pink remains, breaking it up with a spoon. Stir in the diced onion and cook until softened, about 2–3 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
  • In a small bowl, mix the ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise to make the burger sauce.
  • Lay out each tortilla and spread about 1 tablespoon of sauce down the center. Top with a quarter of the beef mixture, a slice of cheddar (or ¼ cup shredded), lettuce, tomato, pickle, and cooked turkey bacon.
  • Fold the sides of the tortilla in toward the center, then roll up tightly to enclose the filling. Lightly spray or brush each wrap with oil.
  • Place wraps seam-side down in the air fryer basket in a single layer (work in batches if needed). Cook for 8–10 minutes, turning halfway through, until the tortilla is golden and crisp and the cheese is melted.
  • Remove from the air fryer and let rest for 2 minutes before slicing in half and serving.

Notes

  • Adjust spice levels by tweaking smoked paprika or adding chili powder.
  • For a milder version, omit jalapeños and use mild cheddar.
  • Leftover fillings make excellent tacos or nacho toppings.
  • Experiment with different proteins (chicken, lamb, or plant-based) and cheeses (pepper jack, Swiss).
  • Always preheat the air fryer for best texture and monitor cook times closely, as models vary.
