Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 jar (24 oz) pizza or marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced (optional)
  • 1 small red onion, diced (optional)
  • Olive oil, for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Stir in the pizza sauce and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a 9×13-inch baking dish, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom.
  5. Place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  6. Spread half of the ricotta cheese over the noodles, then layer with some of the meat sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, and optional veggies.
  7. Repeat with another 3 noodles, the remaining ricotta, more sauce, mozzarella, and toppings.
  8. Add the final 3 noodles on top. Cover with remaining sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, and Parmesan cheese.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For a crispier pepperoni texture, add a few slices to the top layer during the last 10 minutes of baking.

  • Don’t skip the 10-minute rest after baking—it helps the layers hold their shape when sliced.

  • For added depth, mix in a spoonful of tomato paste or minced garlic to the meat sauce.

  • Try provolone or smoked mozzarella for a deeper flavor twist.

  • Store leftovers in individual portions for easy grab-and-go lunches.

  • To reduce prep time, use pre-shredded cheese and pre-diced vegetables.

  • Always taste your sauce before assembling—adjust seasoning if needed.
