Ingredients

Scale

For the steak:

  • 1 lb beef steak (such as sirloin), sliced into thin strips
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

For the pasta:

  • 8 oz medium pasta shells
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Season the sliced beef steak with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak slices and sear until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  3. Cook the pasta shells according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Sprinkle in the flour and stir continuously for 1-2 minutes to form a roux.
  6. Slowly whisk in the beef broth, then add the heavy cream. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and begins to thicken.
  7. Stir in the Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Add the cooked pasta shells and steak back into the skillet. Toss everything together until the pasta is coated and the steak is evenly distributed.
  9. Simmer for a couple of minutes to let the flavors combine.
  10. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use a hot pan to get a perfect sear on the steak.

  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese ensures a smooth, lump-free sauce.

  • Reserve pasta water to loosen the sauce if it gets too thick.

  • Customize with veggies or swap proteins to suit dietary preferences.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3–4 days.
