It’s a rich, comforting dish that works as a quick weeknight dinner, party appetizer, or protein-packed topper for salads, pasta, or rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ pounds sirloin steak or ribeye, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Season the steak pieces with salt and black pepper.

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and sear until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add butter. Once melted, stir in garlic and Italian seasoning. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Add marinara sauce and bring to a simmer. Return the cooked steak to the skillet and stir to coat in the sauce.

Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the top. Cover with a lid or foil and let the cheese melt for a few minutes.

Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Choose ribeye for maximum tenderness and flavor.

  • Don’t skip patting the steak dry—it ensures a proper sear.

  • For a thicker sauce, let the marinara reduce before adding cheese.

  • Always let the steak rest before returning to the skillet.

  • Want it creamier? Substitute marinara with heavy cream or add a splash of both.
