Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic until the meat is browned and the onion is tender. Drain excess fat.

Stir in tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for about 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook egg noodles according to package instructions. Drain.

In a separate bowl, mix together sour cream and cottage cheese.

In a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, layer half of the cooked noodles. Spread half of the sour cream and cottage cheese mixture over the noodles.

Add half of the beef mixture over the cheese layer. Repeat layers.

Top evenly with shredded cheddar cheese.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish with chopped parsley if desired. Serve warm.
