Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease and flour a 10-inch bundt pan.

In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

In another bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients.

Stir in the vanilla extract until just combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Slice and serve!

Notes

  • Use room temperature ingredients for better batter emulsion.

  • Measure flour correctly using the spoon-and-level method to avoid a dense cake.

  • Grease and flour the bundt pan thoroughly to prevent sticking.

  • Do not open the oven door during baking to avoid a sunken cake.

  • Cool in the pan for 15 minutes before unmolding to maintain structure.

  • Enhance with lemon zest, chocolate swirl, or cream cheese for delicious variations.

  • Store airtight at room temperature for up to 4 days or freeze up to 3 months.
