Easy Chocolate Cottage Cheese Mousse – Creamy, Low Sugar Dessert

Whip up this easy chocolate mousse in minutes using cottage cheese, cocoa powder, and your favorite sweetener. It’s smooth, satisfying, and packed with protein—perfect for dessert or a post-workout treat.

Ingredients

  • Cottage cheese – 1 cup (225 g)

  • Unsweetened cocoa powder – 2 tablespoons (10 g)

  • Honey or maple syrup – 2–3 tablespoons (30–45 ml)

  • Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon (5 ml)

  • Milk of choice – 2–4 tablespoons (30–60 ml)

  • Salt – 1/8 teaspoon

Instructions

  • Add cottage cheese, cocoa powder, honey or maple syrup, vanilla extract, milk, and salt to a blender or food processor.

  • Blend for 1–2 minutes until completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.

  • Taste and adjust sweetness or thickness by adding more sweetener or milk if necessary.

  • Transfer the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

For the smoothest texture, use a high-speed blender and blend thoroughly. Full-fat cottage cheese creates a richer mousse, while low-fat versions produce a lighter result. Chill well before serving for best flavor and texture.
