This Creamy White Chicken and Spinach Lasagna offers a deliciously rich and comforting alternative to traditional tomato-based lasagna. Layers of tender chicken, fresh spinach, and creamy béchamel sauce come together with tender pasta sheets and plenty of melted cheese for a luscious, savory dish. Perfect for family dinners or special occasions, it’s a satisfying meal full of fresh flavors and creamy indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 6 oz (170g) chicken ham, chopped
  • 3 cups fresh spinach, chopped
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 ½ cups ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups Alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven: Set oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook noodles: Prepare lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • Prepare filling: In a large bowl, combine ricotta cheese, cooked chicken, chicken ham, chopped spinach, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Assemble lasagna: Spread a thin layer of Alfredo sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Layer 3 noodles over the sauce. Spread one-third of the ricotta mixture over noodles. Sprinkle one cup mozzarella cheese on top. Repeat layering two more times, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  • Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  • Cool and serve: Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • Use cooked, shredded chicken breast or thighs for even layering and great texture.

  • Fresh or frozen spinach works well—if using frozen, be sure to squeeze out excess moisture to avoid sogginess.

  • A classic béchamel (white sauce) made with butter, flour, and milk provides a silky, creamy base.

  • Combine mozzarella, ricotta, and Parmesan cheeses for rich flavor and gooey texture.

  • Let the lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes after baking to help it set and make slicing easier.

  • Serve with a crisp green salad or garlic bread to complete the meal.
