Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz (340g) fettuccine pasta
  • 1 lb (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 ½ cups grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (optional for serving)

Instructions

  • Cook pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • Cook shrimp: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove shrimp and set aside.
  • Make Alfredo sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  • Add cream: Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Add cheese: Stir in grated Parmesan cheese until melted and sauce is smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Combine pasta and shrimp: Add cooked fettuccine and shrimp to the sauce. Toss gently to coat everything evenly.
  • Serve: Plate the pasta, garnish with chopped parsley and lemon wedges if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh or thawed shrimp, peeled and deveined, for the best taste and texture.

  • Make the Alfredo sauce from scratch for a rich, creamy finish — avoid jarred sauces for superior flavor.

  • Season the shrimp with garlic, salt, pepper, and a hint of lemon juice to brighten the dish.

  • Cook pasta al dente to hold up well when tossed with the creamy sauce.

  • Garnish with chopped parsley or basil and extra Parmesan for a fresh, savory touch.

  • Serve with garlic bread or a crisp green salad to complete the meal.
