  • ½ tsp dried oregano

For the cabbage layer:

  • 4 cups cabbage, shredded
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

For the topping:

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the diced onion and garlic to the skillet and cook until softened.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, salt, black pepper, paprika, and oregano. Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
  5. In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the shredded cabbage, salt, and black pepper. Cook until slightly softened, about 5 minutes.
  6. Spread the cooked cabbage evenly in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  7. Layer the beef mixture over the cabbage.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together the sour cream, egg, and half of the shredded cheese. Spread the mixture over the beef layer.
  9. Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
