Ingredients

Scale

For the biscuits:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • ¾ cup milk

For the apple filling:

  • 2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and diced
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

For the glaze:

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cook until apples are soft, about 5 minutes. Stir in vanilla extract and remove from heat.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in cold butter using a pastry cutter or your hands until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gradually add milk, stirring until a dough forms. Turn onto a floured surface and knead a few times.
  5. Roll the dough to about ½-inch thickness. Use a round cutter to cut biscuits and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Spoon a small amount of the apple filling onto each biscuit, pressing slightly into the dough.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until biscuits are golden brown.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
  9. Drizzle the glaze over the warm biscuits before serving.
