Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 oz) refrigerated pizza dough
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Unroll the pizza dough onto a lightly floured surface and cut it into 12 equal strips.

Take each strip and fold it into a heart shape, pressing the ends together to seal.

Place the heart-shaped dough pieces onto the prepared baking sheet.

In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt. Brush the mixture over each breadstick.

Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top.

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Dough Tip: If using store-bought pizza dough, let it sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before shaping for easier handling.
  • Sealing the Hearts: Pinch the ends of the dough together firmly to help the hearts keep their shape while baking.
  • Crispier Breadsticks: Bake for an extra 2-3 minutes or brush with olive oil before baking.
  • Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for 1 day or refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for the best texture.
  • Dipping Sauces: These breadsticks go great with homemade marinara, Alfredo, garlic butter, or even balsamic glaze.
  • Vegan Option: Use dairy-free butter and vegan cheese or nutritional yeast instead of Parmesan.
