Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (or substitute with ground turkey or ground chicken)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • Optional toppings: sliced green onions, diced tomatoes, jalapeños, sour cream

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a mini muffin pan.

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.

Add taco seasoning and water to the skillet. Stir and let simmer until thickened. Remove from heat and mix in the ranch dressing.

Unroll the crescent roll dough and cut into 24 equal squares. Press each square into the bottom of a mini muffin cup.

Spoon the taco meat mixture into each dough cup. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.

Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.

Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with optional toppings before serving.

Notes

  • Use a nonstick mini muffin pan to make cleanup easier.

  • Make the filling up to 2 days in advance and store in the fridge.

  • Want spicier bites? Add hot sauce or chipotle powder to the beef mix.

  • Don’t overfill the cups—leave room for cheese and toppings.

  • Keep warm during parties using a covered dish or warming tray.

  • For a vegetarian version, use a mix of beans, corn, and spices.

  • Serve with mini sides like salsa shots or Mexican street corn salad.

  • Great for holidays, potlucks, and school events—not just tailgates.
